Sarah hosted the Positive Parenting workshop and it was brilliant! Firstly her knowledge is insane: She really has such a broad depth, understanding and approach to the work she does... And secondly, there were so many take homes which are still on repeat in my head! I took loads of notes... She helps you to make connections between behaviours, and approaches to your parenting and creates such self-empowerment! Can’t recommend it enough: My own parenting has been so enriched since learning from Sarah, it’s created so much positivity in our household!

Finally someone who is giving practical advice on how to interact and speak with your anxious child in an understandable way which does not cost a fortune. Sarah’s workshop offers simple and effective solutions to understanding and living with a child who suffers from high anxiety, along with the chance to realise that you are not alone and to hear from the experiences of others in the group. I wish I had met Sarah two years ago when my daughters anxiety started to increase as I feel I could have done a lot more to prevent it escalating.

It is very easy to talk to Sarah about very private and personal issues because she listened and maintained a perfect balance between empathy and coaching.

I will always be very grateful for Sarah's help. She has enabled me to see things in a different way and to become much more positive about my role in the family and about the family dynamics in general.

Sarah is  consistent with what she says, kind and insightful. A great listener and good balance between listening and offering practical methods. It is a long process, but I feel far more equipped than before. I have more self-belief and a more calm, robust response to the trials of family life.

The Circle of Security has given me the chance to analyse the "why" of the behaviours within our family and try and keep the balance.

"Got to be said, you are an amazing lady, when I first came to the hostel and you researched all the lupus facts and what to do to reduce things etc, I was so touched that you made an effort with me. I wasn't used to it and it truly made me smile. You are a brilliant mentor and have helped me so much over these past months and I basically wanted to write a little note to say CHEERS."

Sarah's calm understanding approach is really helping me to understand my teenagers. With her support and guidance we have defined a clear family vision and shifted to focusing on postives which has strengthened our family bond. If you're struggling with teens, I'd really recommend some sessions with Sarah.

"Sarah is a wonderfully warm person who has provided excellent support to us without judgement. Sarah's empathy and kindness really helped us to understand the circle of security and implement it at home. We have seen a huge difference in both our children and in our relationship. We are calmer with the children and understand the feelings behind the behaviour which means we can respond more positively. Thank you for all your understanding and patience."

The course that I attended (led throughout by Sarah)  was particularly well-paced and structured. Each new section seemed to follow-on very naturally from the last and went at a pace that seemed to suit everyone in the room.

For years I endured shame and unattainable expectations at parenting groups. I just stopped going to anything directed at parenting because I only ended up more isolated and depressed by the experience. When I first attended the Circle of Security Parenting programme, I was very guarded, expecting the same message of shame and failure. But this programme provided a paradigm shift, changing my attitude and expectations toward myself and my children. Suddenly I had hope, finally I had a way of parenting that I could do even with my limitations and with my very challenging special needs children. This programme doesn't tell you what to do, it gives you the tools within yourself and the insight into good relationships that empowers you to be a  "good enough" parent by giving you a foundation of knowledge that removes the "you should" that shames and replaces it with the tools to walk alongside our children and help them through life's challenges.

Sarah has given me invaluable help with coping with family and home life. I went to her feeling muddled, confused and in need of help. Through our sessions she has made me feel confident, more in control and she has taught me skills to run a happier family. She was always able to put into words the anxieties I was feeling and to give me the tools to deal with them. Her knowledge and experience is vast. I shall be forever grateful.

Since 2013, the US Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and families lists The Circle of Security as an evidence based and evidence informed programme.

In Washington it is the cornerstone of The Children's Ark, which is a day treatment programme for parents and children involved with Child Protection Services.

The approach is used in a variety of ways in other US states, Norway and Japan, by Social Services and Fostering and Adoption agencies.

It is effectively used in schools to enhance relationships between teachers and students who have behavioural problems.

Circle Of Security Training is regarded as a simple roadmap, to understand children’s specific children’s emotional needs, and is especially helpful in understanding why children act out and what do to help them learn to manage their behaviour
